Instagram Now Supports Editing Comments in Limited Time

Instagram has launched a small change that users have probably been waiting for for a long time. Now, the platform supports editing comments left on a post.

Previously, Instagram only provided an option to edit uploaded posts. There was no option to edit comments left so they had to leave a new comment if an error was made.

This is quite troublesome and fortunately users have better support today. In a post on Threads, Instagram said that users can now edit their comments within the set time limit.

This support only applies within 15 minutes after the comment is uploaded. When leaving a comment on any post, users will see an Edit option next to the Reply option.

Once the editing of a comment is done, a 'Edited' sign will be visible next to the username or Author description. This gives transparency to others that the comment they saw before and after may be different.

This time limit is applied so that users do not abuse this feature. If they are having a discussion or arguing with others in the Instagram post column, they will not be able to change their statement after it passes the time set by Instagram.

Even though other users can see that a comment has been edited by the account owner, they will not be able to see the original comment made. This feature has been launched through the server side so that all users, including in Indonesia, can use the feature.
