Israel Will Continue to Attack Hezbollah, Netanyahu: Our Message is Clear
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday Israel would continue to attack Iran-backed Hezbollah "wherever necessary," a day after Israel's deadly strikes hit Lebanon.
"We continue to attack Hezbollah with strength, precision, and determination," Netanyahu said on his personal X account, launching Al Arabiya from AFP (10/4).
"Our message is clear: anyone who acts against Israeli civilians - we will attack them. We will continue to attack Hezbollah wherever necessary, until we fully restore security for residents in northern Israel," he added.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military said it was continuing ground operations in southern Lebanon, where troops have been battling Hezbollah and holding positions since early March.
In a separate statement, they said they had attacked "two main crossings used by terrorists and Hezbollah commanders to move from north to south of the Litani River in Lebanon to transfer thousands of weapons, rockets and launchers."
They have attacked "around 10 weapons storage facilities, launchers, and command centers" belonging to the Lebanese armed group, he added.
The Israeli attack hit Lebanon on Wednesday, killing more than 200 people and injuring more than 1,000, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.
The Lebanese Prime Minister's Office said Thursday was "a day of national mourning for the martyrs and wounded victims of the Israeli attack targeting hundreds of innocent and defenseless civilians."
He ordered the closure of public administrations and the lowering of flags.
Hours later, Hezbollah said it had fired rockets at Israel in response to what it called a violation of the US-Iranian ceasefire, with sirens sounding several times in northern Israel throughout the morning.
Previously, the US and Iran on Wednesday agreed to a two-week ceasefire and negotiations aimed at ending a conflict that has killed thousands across the region and plunged the global economy into chaos.
