PU Ministry Prepares 206 Packages Worth Rp1.27 Trillion for Bali Infrastructure Project 2026

JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Public Works (PU) has allocated a budget of IDR 1.27 trillion to beautify infrastructure in the province of Bali in the 2026 fiscal year (TA).

At least 206 packages will be worked on using the budget.

Deputy Minister of PU Diana Kusumastuti said that hundreds of projects were designed to strengthen connectivity, territorial protection, and the fulfillment of basic services on the Island of the Gods.

"In the 2026 fiscal year, the PU Ministry has allocated 206 infrastructure work packages in Bali with a total ceiling of IDR 1.27 trillion," said Diana as quoted from a written statement, Thursday, April 9.

In detail, Diana explained, the largest portion of the budget was allocated for the water resources sector.

This is crucial considering the environmental challenges and the need for irrigation and raw water in Bali which continues to increase.

• Water Resources Sector: 139 work packages worth Rp720.2 billion;

• Directorate General of Road Construction: 62 work packages worth Rp. 269 billion;

• Directorate General of Infrastructure Financing: three work packages worth Rp230.9 billion; and

• Directorate General of Creative Industry: two work packages worth Rp51.5 billion.

Diana explained that the development in Bali in 2026 was not done randomly, but using an integrated three-tier strategy.

"Infrastructure strengthening is focused on coastal area protection, flood control, improving connectivity, environmental management, and food security," he said.

The former Director General of Cipta Karya of the Ministry of PUPR emphasized that Bali has a very vital dual role.

Apart from being the face of national tourism, Bali is a node of mobility and living space for the community, which often faces great environmental pressures.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Lasarus, asked the Ministry of PU to further coordinate with the Ministry of Finance and Bappenas to support the acceleration of infrastructure programs in the province of Bali.

"We hope that the Ministry of PU can accommodate the proposal from the Bali Provincial Government gradually starting from this year because adequate infrastructure support is very important for the sustainability of the tourism sector in Bali as the face of national tourism," he added.
