Public Transportation Lines Are Already Many, Pramono Thinks Again to Build the Manggarai-Dukuh Atas Route of the Jakarta LRT
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung admitted that he was considering the continuation of the construction of the Jakarta LRT, especially for the Manggarai-Dukuh Atas route. Meanwhile, another option that is gaining strength is to prioritize the development of a loop line from Kelapa Gading to Tanjung Priok to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).
According to Pramono, the two options are currently still being discussed internally by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, including considering the aspects of needs, economic value feasibility, to budget capacity.
"For the loop that Velodrome, Kelapa Gading and so on enter Tanjung Priok, JIS, then to Ancol, the route has been approved. It's just building," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, April 9.
Meanwhile, the plan to build the LRT from Manggarai to Dukuh Atas is still being reviewed. One consideration is the existence of adequate transportation services to serve the corridor, such as the Commuter Line KRL and Transjakarta.
"There are also inputs from KAI because indeed from Manggarai to Dukuh Atas, the KRL is already very much. And it will be very easy," said Pramono.
Pramono assessed that it was necessary to be cautious in deciding on the construction of new lines, especially in terms of budget efficiency and potential benefits for the community. He continued, the discussion regarding the continuation of the Jakarta LRT project is targeted to be decided soon.
"We are calculating of course what the budget is and so on. We will decide soon," he said.
It is known that until now the DKI Provincial Government is still carrying out the construction of the Jakarta LRT phase 1B. This route has a 6.4 kilometer long route that has 5 stations, namely Pemuda Rawamangun Station, Pramuka BPKP Station, Pramuka Market Station, Matraman Station, and Manggarai Station.
So far, 6 LRT stations have been operating with a length of 5.2 kilometers in phase 1, namely Pegangsaan two, North Boulevard Station, South Boulevard Station, Pulomas Station, Equestrian Station, and Velodrome Station.
If phase 1B has been built, the Jakarta LRT has a route length of 12.2 kilometers with 11 stations from Pegangsaan Dua Station to Manggarai Station.
