iCloud Bug Makes iPhone Data "Hang", Apple Quietly Fixes it in iOS 26.4.1

JAKARTA - iPhone users can finally breathe a sigh of relief. The latest iOS 26.4.1 update brings important fixes to bugs that previously interfered with iCloud data synchronization - including crucial features such as Apple Passwords.

Although the official release notes from Apple sound standard, developers found that this update fixes a serious problem in the iCloud change notification system. The bug causes iPhone devices running iOS 26.4 to fail to receive data updates from the cloud in real time.

The impact is quite wide. Applications that rely on the CloudKit framework - both Apple-made and third-party - experience synchronization disruptions. This means that changes to data on one device do not automatically appear on other devices. This situation makes the user experience "not synchronized" - literally.

One of the features affected is Apple Passwords, where shared password data is not immediately updated between devices. In addition, third-party applications such as Drafts are also affected because they rely on the same infrastructure.

This problem had escaped the attention of the general public, but it was quite frustrating among developers. They couldn't do much other than report the bug and wait for Apple to release a system fix - which finally came with iOS 26.4.1.

The good news is that a similar bug also occurs in iPadOS 26.4 and is also fixed in version 26.4.1. Meanwhile, Mac devices running macOS Tahoe 26.4 are reportedly not affected by this problem.

For users who feel that the app data "doesn't update", the simplest solution: immediately update the device to iOS 26.4.1 through the settings menu. For beta users, Apple has even patched this bug early in the iOS 26.5 development version.
