Megawati Delivers Soekarno's Special Message For The Young Generation Of TNI
JAKARTA - The fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri, reminded the younger generation of TNI soldiers not to forget the strategy of guerrilla warfare. Because, this is one of the messages of his late father, Soekarno.
"I am always reminded by my father, how important it is for the military generation to remember the strategy of guerrilla warfare," said Megawati at the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan), Jakarta, Sunday, June 6.
The guerrilla strategy, continued Megawati, was often applied during the struggle to seize and defend Indonesia's independence.
With that strategy Bung Karno built the TNI to become a defense force that was highly respected because of its unity with the people.
This is also the reason why Megawati always reminds the TNI Commander to ensure that the soldier's education curriculum must always include our guerrilla warfare strategy.
"If you imagine that with sharpened bamboo and the help of the people, we can win our independence, until now we are recognized as an independent nation," said Megawati.
Megawati also asked not to be forgotten. Whereas the 1945 Constitution also mandates that the development of Indonesia's security and defense is not to carry out an occupation.
"But we as a nation of Indonesia always maintain world peace," said Megawati.
For information, the inauguration of the statue of Sukarno riding a horse was carried out where Megawati was present with her family members. Namely his son Prananda Prabowo with wife Nancy Prananda. Also present was the Secretary General of the PDI-P DPP, Hasto Kristiyanto. Shortly before the signing of the inscription, the Defense Minister was seen calling Prananda Prabowo to the front to accompany Megawati. After signing the inscription, Megawati also pressed the button until the statue was visible.
Meanwhile, the ranks of the Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) are led directly by Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto. Several state officials attended. Among them were Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Wahyu Trenggono, Army Chief of Staff General Andika Perkasa, Head of BIN Budi Gunawan, and deputy chiefs of staff of the force.
