JAKARTA - The fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri, told the funny story of her father, Soekarno, about his request for a tame horse.

The horse was to be ridden at a ceremony to commemorate his first birthday in 1946. In fact, that horse was only once in his life.

Initially, Megawati said that the story about the horse was obtained from her mother, Fatmawati Soekarno, who said that her father could not ride a horse.

"I heard the story from my mother, at that time I was very panicked. Because like what was said, (Bung Karno) did not know how to ride a horse," said Megawati at the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan), Jakarta, Sunday, June 6.

For that reason, continued Megawati, her father asked to find a tame horse. In fact, according to him, a leader should ride a gallant horse.

"Because as president at that time, this was according to my mother's story, so she asked to find a tame horse. I couldn't imagine hearing my mother's story, how a commander in chief whose horse was tame. Of course, it should have been fierce, right? , said Megawati.

Until finally, the father was able to ride a horse. Soekarno also attended an examination of the readiness of TNI soldiers.

"It was called the Armed Forces at that time and is now the Indonesian National Army," said Megawati.

For information, the inauguration of the statue of Sukarno riding a horse was carried out where Megawati was present with her family members. Namely his son Prananda Prabowo with wife Nancy Prananda.

Also present was the Secretary General of the PDI-P DPP, Hasto Kristiyanto. Shortly before the signing of the inscription, the Defense Minister was seen calling Prananda Prabowo to the front to accompany Megawati. After signing the inscription, Megawati also pressed the button until the statue was visible.

Meanwhile, the ranks of the Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) are led directly by Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto. Several state officials attended. Among them were Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Wahyu Trenggono, Army Chief of Staff General Andika Perkasa, Head of BIN Budi Gunawan, and deputy chiefs of staff for the force.
