Minister Of Foreign Affairs Of The Suharto Era, Mochtar Kusumaatmadja Dies

JAKARTA - The former Minister of the Soeharto era, Mochtar Kusumaatmadja, passed away today, Sunday, June 6. He served as minister for three times in Development II, III, and IV cabinets.

The sad news was conveyed by the Instagram account of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) @kantorstafpresidri.

"My deepest condolences for the death of Mochtar Kusumaatmadja," wrote @kantorstafpresidri.

In the Suharto era, Mochtar Kusumaatmadja was known to have held several ministerial positions. In addition, he is also a Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University (Unpad).

"He is a Professor and Dean at the Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University, Bandung, Minister of Justice of Development Cabinet II, Development Cabinet II (1973-1978), and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Development Cabinets III and IV of Development Cabinets III and IV (1978-1988)," he wrote. @kantorstafpresidency.

"May his deeds of worship be accepted by Him and the family left behind be given patience, fortitude and sincerity. Amen," continued @kantorstafpresidri.

The man who also served as an expert on international law of the sea died at Siloam Hospital, Jakarta. Now the body is buried in the funeral home on Jalan Balitung 3 No 2 Kebayoran Baru.

The Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Jimly Asshiddique expressed his condolences and prayed for Mochtar Kusumaatmadja, who has given many services to Indonesia through his Twitter account.

"Innalillahu wa inna ilaihi rojiun. Prof. Dr. Mochtar Kusumaatmaja passed away with all his legacy (inheritance), services and dedication to the nation and state.
