Officially Launched in Europe, Denza Z9 GT Brings Brutal Performance and Fast Charging 1,500 kW

JAKARTA - The premium brand Denza, which is under the auspices of BYD, officially introduced its two flagship models, Z9 GT and D9 to the European market. The launch was held on April 8, marking the brand's serious step in expanding its global footprint.

Launching Carnewschina, Thursday, April 9, the Denza Z9 GT as a high-tech GT model was opened with a pre-sale price starting at around 115,000 euros or equivalent to Rp. 2 billion. This model can now be ordered through the official Denza website in seven European countries, including France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.

In its home market, China, the new Z9 GT was just launched last month with a starting price of 269,800 yuan or around Rp600 million. This car is claimed to be the world's longest range electric vehicle today. Built on the e³ (Yi San Fang) technology platform, the Z9 GT offers two drive system options, namely pure electric and plug-in hybrid.

For the pure electric version, the performance is considered extreme with an acceleration of 0-100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds. The independent rear wheel steering technology is also in the spotlight, allowing the car to perform precise maneuvers such as compass turns to sideways movements in narrow spaces.

Meanwhile, the Denza D9 DM-i comes as a flagship MPV that offers mileage flexibility. This model can travel up to 210 km in full electric mode, and reach a total range of 950 km when combined with full fuel and battery.

On the same occasion, Denza also introduced its latest fast charging technology in Europe. Relying on BYD's second-generation Blade battery, this system is capable of generating up to 1,500 kW of power. The Z9 GT with this technology is claimed to be able to reach 5 minutes for sufficient charging, 9 minutes for full charging in normal temperature conditions.

Even in extreme conditions of minus 30 degrees Celsius, the charging process only takes about 12 minutes, or only three minutes longer than the ideal condition. Denza's expansion in Europe is projected to continue.

By the end of 2026, the brand targets a presence in more than 30 countries with the support of more than 150 retail outlets. To support the electric vehicle ecosystem, BYD also plans to build 6,000 fast charging stations outside China, with half or about 3,000 units to be focused in the European region.
