Shareefa Daanish Remains Serious in Horror Comedy Film "Warung Pocong"

JAKARTA - Shareefa Daanish is known as one of the actresses who often plays horror films. A different experience is felt when she starred in the film Warung Pocong directed by Bendolt.

In this film, Daanish plays Nyi Mas Sari who is the owner of a warung in the middle of the city and employs three men (Randhika Jamil, Fajar Nugra, Sadana Agung).

"Mix this time yes. Because playing Nyi Mas Sari, there are several phases. There are some that I feel is difficult to get out of the template because I don't want to, yes, Shareefa Daanish who plays Nyimas Sari, has a physical and voice template. But there are certain phases that I think I can explore, I'm learning more," said Shareefa Daanish at VOI's office some time ago.

Because he was asked to play seriously, the scenes that were strung together also left memories for the actress. He had to keep acting seriously in the middle of a situation or a comedy scene.

"The most memorable scene is the scene at the dinner table when we are all there. There is one scene that I feel should be the same as Mas Wika (Teuku Rifnu Wikana), but because we are costumed, I feel it will be funny, so I keep laughing," he explained.

"But when I saw the results, it was really scary. That was the first time I was dressed with it," said Daanish again.

Furthermore, the 43-year-old actress admitted that she did not mind if the public always saw her as a horror actress. The important thing is when she can explore various roles for herself.

"I don't want to feel because the films I play are mostly horror, the public is synonymous with horror. It doesn't make me afraid, but as an actress I really want to explore other genres to nourish myself. There is satisfaction if I can play other genres, but not because of public opinion, but more to myself," said Shareefa Daanish.

Warung Pocong tells the story of three men who are willing to work in a warung in the middle of the city to meet their economy. However, they find various irregularities and mysterious things while working there.

Meanwhile, the film Warung Pocong will be shown in Indonesian cinemas starting Thursday, April 9.
