Australian Journalist Criticizes His Country's 'Cold-blooded' Response to Israel's Massacre of Lebanese Civilians

JAKARTA - Australian journalist Jan Fran responded to his government's "lukewarm" response to the massacre of civilians in Lebanon by the Israeli military.

"If it happened to Westerners - Americans, Australians, British, Europeans - if they were slaughtered by an unprecedented number of air raids, would we lead an interview by talking about the [fuel] price or would we explain that this action is barbaric and unacceptable?" Fran told Al Jazeera, Thursday, April 9.

The founder of Ette Media, one of the media in the Kangaroo country, regretted the Australian Government's attitude.

"Unfortunately, it's not surprising," he added.

The Israeli military continues to bombard Lebanon despite the US-Iran agreeing to a two-week ceasefire.

In just one day, Wednesday, April 8, Israel's massive air raids on Lebanon killed 254 people and injured 1,165 others.
