UAE Demands Iran Pay Compensation and Unconditionally Open Hormuz

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES (UAE) - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has asked Iran to take full responsibility for the damage caused by the attack in the Gulf region. The UAE is also still asking for further explanations about the contents of the ceasefire agreement, especially regarding the cessation of hostilities and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Quoted from Arab News, Thursday, April 9, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed this stance on Wednesday. In its statement, the UAE said it still needed clarity on the provisions of the agreement to ensure Iran's full commitment to the immediate cessation of all hostilities in the region and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz in full and unconditional.

The UAE also stressed that Iran must be held accountable and bear full responsibility for the damage and reparations or compensation resulting from the attacks.

Meanwhile, Bahrain welcomed the agreement. According to Arab News, the Bahraini government still emphasizes the need for a long-term solution to ensure Iran does not have nuclear weapons and stop the spread of ballistic missiles and drones.

Bahrain also called for a final agreement that could stop Iran's actions, which it said were disrupting the security of the Gulf and the wider Middle East.
