Kemenag Matangkan Persiapan Haji 2026, Fokus Tekan Biaya
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) held a National Working Meeting (Rakernas) on consolidation with the theme "Transformation of Inclusive Hajj Implementation in the Challenge of Global Geopolitical Dynamics" to mature the preparation for the 1447 Hijriah/2026 Hajj.
During the forum, the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, admitted that he had experienced anxiety regarding the potential increase in the cost of the 2026 hajj. This was triggered by the proposal to adjust the price of flight tickets from Garuda Indonesia and Saudia Airlines, following the increase in jet fuel prices in the global market.
"We were a little confused for a few days because Garuda and Saudia wanted to increase or change the price due to the increase in jet fuel prices," Irfan told reporters at the Tangerang Class I Hajj Dormitory, Wednesday, April 8.
The increase in jet fuel is one of the main factors that could potentially affect the cost of Hajj flight operations. This condition has raised concerns about additional cost burdens for pilgrims.
However, Irfan ensured that the situation had been under control after receiving direct instructions from President Prabowo Subianto. In a limited meeting, the President emphasized that the increase in operational costs should not be imposed on the pilgrims.
"President Prabowo firmly stated that even though there was an increase, it should not be imposed on the congregation. That is what makes us happy, relieved, so that at the same time we are very touched that President Prabowo's attention to the pilgrims is extraordinary," added Irfan.
Following up on this, the Ministry of Transportation will recalculate the proposed increase in costs from airlines. The government also continues to monitor the fluctuations in global jet fuel prices and coordinates with Commission VIII of the DPR to find the best solution.
Regarding the source of funding, the government is studying various alternatives, ranging from the State Budget (APBN) to support from the Hajj Finance Management Agency (BPKH), to ensure that there are no additional costs for pilgrims.
Apart from the issue of costs, Irfan also conveyed positive developments regarding the technical readiness of the haj. He ensured that all haj visas had been issued 100 percent. The Nusuk card, which is a mandatory requirement during the Holy Land, is also available in Indonesia.
"Nusuk card, this morning I called the representative of the Syarikah Haji, they stated that 100 percent were already in Indonesia, just divide it to the congregation later and activate it in Indonesia," he explained.
