Government Working Meeting, President Prabowo Evaluates and Cancels Hundreds of Problematic IUPs in Forest Areas

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto has ordered the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, to conduct a thorough evaluation of mining business permits (IUP) located in protected forests, conservation forests, national parks, and other forest areas. The instruction was conveyed by the President in his briefing at the Government Working Meeting with members of the Red and White Cabinet, all Eselon I officials of ministries/institutions, and the President Director of SOEs at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta, on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
