Ongkos Haji Does Not Increase Even Though Avtur Prices Soar, Purbaya: Budget Is Taken From APBN Efficiency
Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto said that the cost of the 2026 hajj would not increase even though the price of jet fuel had soared.
Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said the budget to cover the cost of the hajj was not taken from the Surplus Budget Balance (SAL), but from the fiscal space resulting from budget efficiency that has been running this year.
This was conveyed by Purbaya at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, April 8. According to Purbaya, the efficiency results will be allocated to cover new expenditures, including Hajj budget needs.
Purbaya assessed that the fiscal space was still sufficient because the assumption of the world oil price was actually moving down.
Purbaya said that the reserves in the state budget remained available. Because efficiency is calculated on a full-year scale, the government feels that it still has room to shift allocations to needs that are considered urgent.
