iPhone Fold is Said to Still be Released This Year in Latest Report
JAKARTA - Not long ago, rumors emerged stating that the launch of the iPhone Fold would be delayed until 2027. However, this statement from Nikkei Asia was denied by Bloomberg.
The latest report written by Mark Gurman states that Apple is sticking to its original plan, namely releasing the iPhone Fold in conjunction with the launch of the iPhone 18 series. All of these devices are said to be available in September.
Although the launch schedule is not final, Apple is rumored to have started a trial production phase for its first foldable phone. This technical verification phase shows that the company is running standard procedures ahead of the mass launch of the product.
For example, this information gap arises because there are many partner factory parties who have access to the device. This data leak from various sources causes predictions that often contradict each other.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had previously warned about the issue of unit availability. The complex screen design of the iPhone Fold is expected to trigger stock shortages. Kuo did not discuss the possibility of a delayed launch of the device.
The iPhone Fold is rumored to have a 5.5-inch screen when folded and 7.8 inches when the screen is opened. With a thickness of around 4.5 mm, this device will have a 4:3 aspect ratio that resembles the iPad design, but with a more compact size.
Recently, mock-ups of what is suspected to be the iPhone Fold have started to appear. To find out the exact launch time, we still need to wait for official information or leaks from Apple.
