Grab Launches Four AI-Based Features to Make Consumer Activities Easier
JAKARTA - Grab introduced a series of new features at GrabX 2026 which was held on Wednesday, April 8. From the many features introduced, some of them are designed specifically for consumers.
All of these innovations utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. That way, each of the features can be used by millions of users in Southeast Asia to simplify tasks and speed up decision-making.
In addition to the Grab AI Assistant, there are four other features that Grab announced. Here are the four features that Grab added to its application, ranging from travel support to real-time spending transparency.
Group Ride
The Group Ride feature is intended for two to four people who want to go home with a one-way route. They can share the same vehicle and save up to 40 percent compared to booking a vehicle privately.
The integration of AI in this feature will help the system in arranging pick-ups from different locations to the same destination with separate payment systems. The system will calculate the cost based on the distance traveled, traffic conditions, and travel time of each passenger.
Grab More
If users want to buy food from two different merchants, they no longer have to worry about delivery costs. With the presence of the Grab More feature, users can order from two different restaurants at once.
This feature allows users to add orders from nearby merchants without incurring additional delivery fees or minimum order limits. Grab's AI will systematically organize the delivery workflow so that orders from different partners can arrive at your location simultaneously.
GrabMaps for Consumers
Grab is now more than just a travel service app. The platform has also transformed into a navigation app that not only shows routes, but also predicts destinations based on travel history and provides real-time parking availability information.
Interestingly, this feature also provides an indoor map to help users navigate around large malls or buildings. Users can also change the navigation voice instructions using their original voice which will then be personalized by AI.
Cash Loan
Next is the Cash Loan feature which offers a loan solution for users who have limited financial history or are new to the credit system. With AI-based collateral and first-party data, users can receive loan approval decisions in just a few seconds.
The entire process is done digitally without physical documents so that it is easier for consumers when faced with unexpected expenses. Users also have the flexibility to adjust the loan amount and payment plan according to their monthly budget.
Group Ride is currently still in limited testing so not all users can access the feature. Grab More and GrabMaps are already available in the application, while Cash Loan is only available in the Philippines and it is not yet certain when it will be available in Indonesia.
