Unidentified Body Found in Sunter River Gate of TNI AL Kodamar Complex, Head Covered in Black Plastic

JAKARTA - The body of an unidentified man was found floating in the Sunter River, specifically near the gate of the TNI AL Kodamar Complex, Yos Sudarso Street, West Kelapa Gading Village, Kelapa Gading District, North Jakarta, Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

The victim was found in a prone position. According to AM's statement, an eyewitness at the scene, he saw the body of a man covered in plastic.

"The figure is like a corpse, visible from the back to the back of the head or hair. The head is covered with a black plastic cloth," said AM.

The body was first found by CS, a member of the PPSU who was working to clean up the garbage in the river.

While working, CS saw a half-human figure floating in the Sunter Komadar River.

Seeing this, he then informed AM as the PPSU supervisor.

The PPSU supervisor, after receiving information from the CS, immediately went to the location that was reported by the CS.

At the location, the PPSU foreman saw a figure like a corpse with the condition from the back to the back of the head or ambut, covered with black plastic cloth.

Meanwhile, the local police, after receiving information, said they immediately came to the scene and examined it.

"The picket of the Kelapa Gading Police who arrived at the location of the crime scene found a body floating at the crime scene or the Sunter River Kodamar with a lying position. Furthermore, after the body was lifted from the Suner River Kodamar and an initial examination was carried out on the victim's body, no identity was found on the victim's body and no signs of abuse were found," said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kelapa Gading Police, AKP Kiki Tanlim when confirmed, Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

For the body, said AKP Kiki Tanlim, it had been taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, for a visum.

"The body was taken to the Police Hospital for VER. This case is handled by the Kelapa Gading Police to further investigate," he said.
