Four Workers Died while Cleaning the Water Tank of the Building Project in TB Simatupang
JAKARTA - Four construction workers were killed and three others suffocated after inhaling water tank gas on a multi-storey building project located on Jalan TB Simatupang RT 02/RW 02, Tanjung Barat, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.
The victims who died were YN (32) from Subang, MW (62) from Cianjur, TS (63) from West Bandung and MF (19) from West Bandung.
Meanwhile, the three victims of suffocation were on behalf of UJ (41), SN (63), and AJ (47). All three are residents of Purwakarta.
The chronology of the incident began when two construction workers on the project were at the location on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 10.00 WIB.
At that time, the two victims were asked by the foreman to drain the clean water reservoir on the basement floor.
Then during the process of dismantling the cover, the victim fell into a pit with a depth of three meters. The victim was helped by his colleagues, but did not use rescue equipment (safety). Finally, the victim's colleagues also fell into the pit.
The incident resulted in four people falling and three people suffocating due to the heat and smell from the tower.
Finally, the three witnesses took the victims to Pasar Rebo Hospital. Unfortunately, when they arrived at the hospital, the victim was declared dead by the emergency room doctor.
