Changan Introduces BlueCore HEV that Makes Fuel Efficiency 2.98 Liters per 100 Km

Changan Automobile Group has strengthened its move in the environmentally friendly vehicle segment by introducing the latest technology called BlueCore HEV. This innovation is claimed to be an important part of building a sustainable mobility ecosystem by prioritizing optimal fuel efficiency.

In its testing, the technology showed impressive performance. The sedan equipped with this system was able to record fuel consumption of up to 2.98 liters per 100 kilometers for urban use, making it one of the most competitive efficiency solutions in its class.

"BlueCore HEV is Changan's strategic step in providing global mobility solutions. BlueCore HEV is a solution from China for global hybrid mobility," said General Manager Zhao Fei in an official statement, Tuesday, April 7.

The company explained that BlueCore HEV is designed as a smart hybrid system that is able to balance driving efficiency and comfort. This technology integrates various advanced components in one integrated system without requiring external charging.

Starting from a high-pressure 500 bar direct injection hybrid engine, a large magnetic flux electric motor, to a high-security standard battery and AI-based cloud control system.

The development of this technology is also not instantaneous. Changan said the research and development process lasted for six years involving around 1,000 engineers.

The investment injected reached 2 billion yuan or the equivalent of Rp. 4.9 trillion, with a total of 163 patents successfully registered as part of the innovation. In addition to efficiency, comfort is also a major concern.

BlueCore HEV is equipped with noise-damping technology, piston stop control, and a sound wave cancellation system to create a quieter driving experience. In terms of durability, this system has passed various rigorous tests.

This includes road tests of more than 2 million kilometers, more than 70 special tests, 350 hours of continuous bench tests, up to more than 1,000 hours of testing in extreme conditions. Changan Automobile Executive Vice President Yang Dayong, assessed BlueCore HEV as a major leap in the development of modern hybrid technology.

"The newly developed iDE-H (intelligent Deep Electrified Hybrid) architecture by Changan has overcome the main obstacles in conventional HEV technology and made it possible to make progress in terms of fuel efficiency, driving experience, and intelligent functionality," he said.
