2 North Toraja Police Staff Keroyok Cafe Visitors to be Tried for Code of Ethics

JAKARTA - At least two personnel from the North Toraja Police, Aiptu AS and Bripka IA, were processed for alleged violations of the code of ethics related to the involvement in the beating and persecution of visitors to the Valery Cafe on Jalan Pongtiku, Rantepao, North Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi.

"Regarding the two North Toraja Police personnel suspected of being involved, at present, an examination has been carried out by Bidpropam (Professional and Security Field)," said Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Police, Kombes Pol Didik Supranoto, through his statement, Tuesday, quoted by Antara.

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning, April 1 at Cafe Valery involving visitors and members of the National Police and TNI. It was reported that a number of victims were injured after the incident.

"Currently, an investigation has been carried out by Bipropam. The process of enforcing the code of ethics and discipline will be carried out firmly in accordance with the applicable provisions," he said.

Based on initial information, there is an alleged involvement of two Toraja Utara Police personnel with the initials Aiptu AS and Bripka IA. Both are suspected to be at the scene when the incident took place.

Regarding this incident, his party confirmed and had received a report related to the incident on Thursday, April 2. This case is being handled professionally and transparently.

The alleged assault incident has been officially reported by the victim to the North Toraja Police and, the Satreskrim investigators have taken statements from the victim's witnesses to ensure that the legal process is carried out professionally, proportionately, and accountable.

The investigation and investigation process is still ongoing, including the deepening of evidence and witness statements at the location. The National Police ensures that it will handle the case objectively and transparently as a form of commitment to maintaining public trust.

Previously, it was suspected that five TNI personnel and police personnel had mobbed visitors to Cafe Valeri, on Wednesday, April 1. Later it was revealed that there were two police personnel suspected of being involved in the mob case.

After the incident, four people were victims, two men and two women. Meanwhile, for the five members of the TNI who are suspected of being involved in the persecution, they are now secured and undergoing an examination from the Military Police (POM) of the TNI.

The commander of Kodim (Dandim) 1414Tana Toraja Lieutenant Colonel (Inf) Armal was confirmed by reporters to confirm the incident. "Yes, we have received reports. There are five of our members involved," he said.

North Toraja Police Chief AKBP Stephanus Luckyto Andry Wicaksono when confirmed also confirmed that two of his personnel were suspected of being involved in the case. The two are currently being processed at Propam for alleged violations of police ethics through the detention of Special Placement or Patsus.

"Now (being processed), these two people have been processed. For the legal process, it is carried out in parallel, through general criminal justice and professional ethics trials," he said.
