Learn from the JAKI Complaint Case Using AI Photo, DPRD: Don't Just Be Happy
JAKARTA - Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD highlighted the findings of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) based photos in the follow-up or response to citizen complaints through the JAKI application. This practice is considered to have damaged public confidence in the performance of the apparatus in the field.
Member of Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Kevin Wu, said the use of technology should help accelerate services, not be used to manipulate reports. He reminded that reports should not be made merely as a formality without real work in the field.
"Don't just use reports that are the nature of your father's pleasure or ABS, yes," Kevin told reporters, Tuesday, April 7.
According to Kevin, this practice is a serious violation because it has the potential to deceive the public. He assessed this action as a form of betrayal of the duties that should be carried out with integrity.
"This is certainly something we will pay attention to and of course for those who make such efforts we will make a rebuke, yes, because this is a form of betrayal for me that the task they should have done but was done in that way. Technology should be made easier, not to deceive the public," he said.
Commission A, he continued, encouraged decisive action from direct superiors and local governments against those involved. This step is considered important so that similar cases do not recur.
"Once the first incident occurred, I think all of them are not only from members of the DPRD but also from the government, local government, the superiors concerned must also give a stern warning," said Kevin.
He emphasized that public trust could only be maintained if the government showed seriousness in cracking down on violations. Kevin admitted that this practice was only revealed after going viral in the public. Therefore, he encouraged public involvement to monitor and report if they found similar incidents.
"This is just what we know, maybe because it is viral, and we hope there will be openness. Therefore, do not hesitate to report to us in Commission A if there are similar things, so that we can tolerate this kind of effort," he explained.
