Minister of Communication and Information: WFH Cannot Disturb Public Services
JAKARTA - In line with the Work From Home (WFH) policy every Friday which has been in effect since April 1, 2026, the Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid emphasized that the quality and speed of public services to the public must not be reduced.
He emphasized that this WFH is not an additional holiday, but rather part of the government's work culture transformation to increase efficiency and utilization of digital technology.
"It must not reduce effectiveness, it must not reduce productivity, and it must not interfere with the speed of service from the ministry," he said in an official broadcast quoted on Tuesday, April 7.
According to him, this policy is designed to suppress mobility and increase operational efficiency, including restrictions on official travel and the use of operational vehicles, as well as the transfer of funds to national priority programs.
Meutya also reminded that global challenges require all levels to remain disciplined and focused in their work. He asked all employees to maintain the rhythm of work and increase collaboration.
"We must remain focused, calm, productive, and shoulder to shoulder. What the world is facing today is not easy," he said.
Meutya also emphasized the importance of solid leadership and internal communication that is in line so that policies can run effectively throughout the organization's lines.
"There should be no difference in spirit above and below. If this happens, we will have difficulties," he said.
