The Weapon Carried by the Curanmor Perpetrator in Koja Turns Out to be an Airsoftgun
JAKARTA - Police have confirmed that the weapon carried by the perpetrator of a motorcycle theft in Koja, North Jakarta, is not a firearm, but an airsoftgun.
"The one gun seized was an airsoft gun, not a firearm," said Koja Police Chief, Kompol Andry Suharto, Monday (6/4/2026).
In addition, the police also confiscated the gotri ammunition, CO2 gas cylinders, and two mobile phones belonging to the perpetrator.
"We will trace the phone to uncover the network of perpetrators," he said.
From the results of the examination, the perpetrator with the initials A was known to be a repeat offender.
"We will develop this case to uncover other motor theft networks," added Andry.
Both perpetrators are residents of Lagoa Village, Koja District. Until now, the motive for the theft is still under investigation.
Both are still being treated at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital due to serious injuries after being attacked by the crowd.
As previously reported, two perpetrators of motorcycle theft carrying weapons resembling a Baretta pistol are now in critical condition and are being treated at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, after being mobbed by the masses in Koja, North Jakarta.
"Both were surrounded by the crowd and were successfully secured by the Koja Police Opsnal team. They were then taken to the Polri Hospital for medical treatment," said Koja Police Chief, Kompol Andry Suharto, Monday (6/4/2026).
The two perpetrators are known as initials A (25) and RR (29), residents of Lagoa, Koja, North Jakarta. The incident occurred in Sawah Baru Village, Gang M No. 36, RT 06/09, Rawa Badak Utara Village, around 11.55 WIB.
The victim, FA (21), a woman, has reported the incident to the police.
