Indonesia Sends 16 Representatives to the 2026 Asian Championships

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) is confirmed to send as many as 16 representatives to the Badminton Asia Championships (BAC) or the 2026 Asian Badminton Championships which take place this week.

The tournament will be held on April 7-12, 2026 at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center, Ningbo, China. The event is an opportunity for young Indonesian badminton players to show their teeth.

One of the youth badminton players who entered the Garuda squad was the women's singles Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan. He will be accompanied by Putri Kusuma Wardani in the women's singles sector.

"Preparation for this tournament is quite ready, especially this is my first match in the Asian Badminton Championships. So, there is also a sense of excitement," said Thalita in a statement received.

From the men's doubles, the young pair sent was Devin Artha Wahyudi/Ali Faathir Rayhan. They went with the mainstay pair, such as Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.

Another men's doubles in the Indonesian team is Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin. The pair are in a pretty satisfying performance in several tournaments since the end of last year.

"We are proud and happy to be able to participate. After knowing that we were trusted to play here, in terms of preparation we tried even more than usual," said Devin.

At this event, Indonesia's strength was reduced by the withdrawal of the women's doubles Isyana Syahira Meida/Rinjani Kwinnara Nastine. The decision was made because Rinjani was infected with typhoid fever last week and had not returned to the best condition.
