Minister of PKP: Construction of 300 Units of Rusun in Senen Completed on June 15

He added that the total housing development for residents living on the railway embankment reached 824 units.

In addition, the government also received support from the corporate social responsibility (CSR) program of companies that are willing to build 1,000 units of apartment units in several locations.

"So, we will prepare it, we will prepare the land, then Astra will build it, then it will be handed over to the state. So, there is also cooperation, there is the state budget, there is Danantara, and there is also the private sector, there is a foundation. Let's work quickly," he said.

Regarding home ownership, said Ara, the government is still making arrangements for rent or private ownership.

According to him, the most important thing at this time is that construction can be accelerated so that the community can have decent and safe housing.

"We will build it first so that it will be faster. So, we will build it while following the rules we will prepare what we can. Meanwhile, there are certainly many that are rented, rented at affordable prices," said Ara.

Previously, the Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning planned to build 300 units of flats on land owned by PT Angkasa Pura which is located on Jalan Kramat Raya, Jakarta, intended for residents of the Senen railway embankment area.

Ara also said that 500 units of housing would also be built for residents of the Senen railway embankment area on the Tanah Abang land owned by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) which is expected to be completed on June 15, 2026.

According to him, the Jakarta area is in dire need of housing for the people very quickly because the backlog is very large.
