Pastor Yeremias Zanambani's Autopsy Plan Is Conducted Today

JAKARTA - The Papuan Police Chief, Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri, admitted that the forensic team from the Medical Faculty of Hasanuddin University, Makassar, autopsied the body of Pastor Yeremias Zanambani in Hipadipa, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua.

According to him, the forensic team including the Joint Fact Finding Team (TPGF) Intan Jaya and Komnas HAM have joined in Sugapa, the capital of Intan Jaya Regency.

"But when the autopsy will be carried out there has been no further report, maybe today, Saturday, June 5," he said, in Jayapura, as reported by Antara, Saturday, June 5.

The autopsy, he said, was carried out to determine the cause of Zanambani's death, on September 19, 2020. "Hopefully the excavation and autopsy will go well," he said.

The wife and family of the deceased, he said, have also allowed an autopsy to be carried out. Zanambani was allegedly shot while feeding his pigs.

Previously, the Head of TPGF Intan Jaya, Benny Mamoto, stated that an autopsy on Zanambani's body must be carried out to determine the cause of death.

"From the autopsy, the investigator can continue the investigation to determine the suspect," said Mamoto.
