Menhaj: Preparations for the 2026 Hajj are Normal and Safe

JAKARTA - Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Menhaj) Mochamad Irfan Yusuf ensures that preparations for the implementation of the hajj in 2026 remain normal and safe in the midst of the dynamics that occur in the Middle East region.

He said the government continued to coordinate intensively with Saudi authorities, as well as Indonesian representatives to ensure the safety of prospective pilgrims.

"We always coordinate, communicate with the Saudi Government. We coordinate our Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Indonesian Embassy in Saudi Arabia, and also with our Hajj committee there," said Menhaj Irfan at the Al-Mizan Majalengka Islamic Boarding School, West Java, Monday, April 6, reported by ANTARA.

According to him, until now all parties concerned are still giving the green light to the implementation of the hajj this year. "Until today, everything is still giving the green light so that preparations are still going on as usual," said MenhajIrfan.

He ensured that the safety aspect of prospective pilgrims remained the top priority, because to anticipate various possibilities, the government has prepared a number of layered mitigation scenarios.

"Then we prepare several plans, plan A, plan B, plan C. Of course we have coordinated with friends from Commission VIII of the DPR RI. Hopefully everything can run smoothly," said MenhajIrfan.

In addition, Menhaj said that all the needs of prospective pilgrims such as consumption, hotel accommodation, to local transportation in Saudi Arabia, have been thoroughly prepared.

"Everything is finished. The catering is ready, the hotel is ready, the local transportation is ready. Everything is ready," said MenhajIrfan.

Regarding the quota, he said there was no increase in prospective pilgrims this year, so the number remained around 221 thousand people. "There is no additional quota. It remains 221 thousand people," he said.
