Katseye and Jadwal's New Single's Manon's Existence and Coachella Appearance Schedule
JAKARTA - Manon Bannerman's future at Katseye is now under the sharp spotlight of fans. Ahead of the release of the latest single "Pinky Up" which is scheduled to be released on April 9, the signs of the presence of the Swiss-Ghanaian personnel are actually increasingly invisible in various promotional materials.
Since the social media campaign began on March 30, HYBE x Geffen, the label that oversees the Dream Academy alumni group, has consistently only featured five members: Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, Sophia Laforteza, and Yoonchae Jeung.
Manon's absence sparked wild speculation among eyekons (a term for Katseye fans), especially after the idol was caught deleting the group's name from his personal Instagram bio.
Manon is known to have been on a temporary hiatus since February 20 for health reasons. However, through a short message on Weverse DMs recently, he gave a statement that hinted at an intense communication process behind the scenes.
"Thank you so much for all the love and support you have sent me. I am so grateful for the patience and kindness everyone has shown so far," Manon said, quoted by Forbes, Monday, April 6.
"HxG (HYBE x Geffen) and I are having a positive conversation and I feel supported. I'm happy and I'm healthy. I'll share more soon," he continued.
The uncertainty was complicated by a report that confirmed that Manon would join Katseye's performance at the Coachella music festival. However, the information was mysteriously deleted a few hours later without any correction notes from the agency.
If on schedule, Katseye will hit the Coachella stage on April 10, exactly one day after "Pinky Up" is released.
Although the agency expressed their commitment to staying together when "the time is right", the first released promotional visuals for "Pinky Up" still did not include Manon. This strengthens the suspicion that he may not have been involved in the recording process or the making of the music video for the single.
In the midst of this uncertainty, Katseye is still moving ahead with a busy schedule. In addition to Coachella, they have also been confirmed as the main performers at the Head in the Clouds Music & Arts Festival in Pasadena, California, in August.
