APBN Records a Deficit of IDR 240.1 Trillion until March 2026
JAKARTA - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa reported that the State Budget (APBN) deficit as of March 31, 2026 reached IDR 240.1 trillion or equivalent to 0.93 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Meanwhile, the deficit target for this year is 2.68 percent of GDP.
Purbaya explained that this deficit condition is indeed in accordance with the 2026 State Budget design, and the government deliberately accelerates the realization of spending so that the impact of state expenditures on the economy can be felt more evenly throughout the year.
"The state budget deficit is IDR 240.1 trillion or 0.93 percent of GDP. So when there is a deficit, people don't have to be surprised. Indeed, our budget is designed to be in deficit. If I spend more evenly throughout the year, it should be the first quarter now is bigger than last year's quarter, the deficit," he said in a working meeting with Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Monday, April 6.
In terms of state revenue, the total state revenue as of the end of March 2026 was recorded at Rp574.9 trillion or 18.2 percent of the year-end target of Rp3,153.6 trillion.
In addition, the realization of state revenue as of March 2026 was 10.5 percent higher than the same period in the previous year which reached IDR 520.4 trillion.
He detailed that the realization of state revenue as of March 2026 consists of tax revenue of Rp. 462.7 trillion or 17.2 percent of the 2026 state budget target of Rp. 2,693.7 trillion.
The tax revenue figure comes from tax revenue of Rp394.8 trillion or 16.7 percent of the 2026 state budget target of Rp2,357.7 trillion and customs and excise taxes of Rp67.9 trillion or equivalent to 20.2 percent of the 2026 state budget of Rp336 trillion.
Meanwhile, non-tax state revenues (PNBP) reached IDR 112.1 trillion or 24.4 percent of the 2026 state budget target of IDR 459.2 trillion.
Meanwhile, the realization of state expenditures as of March 2026 has reached Rp815.0 trillion or around 21.2 percent of the total 2026 state budget target of Rp3,842.7 trillion.
In addition, the realization of state expenditures as of March 2026 was 31.4 percent higher than the same period in the previous year which reached IDR 620.3 trillion.
The realization of state spending as of March 2026 consists of central government spending recorded at Rp610.3 trillion or equivalent to 19.4 percent of the 2026 target of Rp3,149.7 trillion.
In addition, the figure for the realization of central government spending comes from the K/L spending of Rp281.2 trillion or equivalent to 18.6 percent of the state budget target of Rp1,510.5 trillion and non-K/L spending reaches Rp329.1 trillion or 20.1 percent of the state budget target of Rp1,639.2 trillion.
Meanwhile, the Regional Transfer (TKD) reached Rp204.8 trillion or equivalent to 29.5 percent of the 2026 State Budget target of Rp693.0 trillion.
Meanwhile, the primary balance recorded a deficit of IDR 95.8 trillion or equivalent to 106.8 percent of the 2026 state budget target of IDR 89.7 trillion.
As for the financing of the budget, its realization reached Rp257.4 trillion or about 37.3 percent of the target of Rp689.1 trillion.
