Bolo Boyolali Village Suspension Bridge Can Be Used Soon

Boyolali - The government through the Garuda Bridge program continues to accelerate the construction of basic infrastructure in rural and isolated areas, one of which is through the construction of the Bolo Wetan Suspension Bridge in Bolo Village, Wonosegoro District, Boyolali Regency.

For decades, residents of Dukuh Bolo Tangkil have had to risk their safety by crossing the Serang River to go to school, work, and seek medical treatment. Now, a suspension bridge is being built to end this isolation.

This bridge was built to answer the urgent needs of the people of Dukuh Bolo Tangkil who for decades faced access limitations due to being separated by the fast-flowing Serang River.

Village Development Officer (Babinsa) Bolo from Koramil 17 Wonosegoro Kodim 0724/Boyolali, Budi Purnomo, explained that until now, residents who are mostly farmers, workers, and students have to take a detour of 8.5 kilometers to access the village center which is across the river.

This was conveyed by Budi not long ago and quoted by VOI on Monday, April 6. In fact, in order to shorten the travel time, it is not uncommon for residents to risk their safety by crossing the Serang River directly.

During the rainy season, the river with a width of more than 85 meters often floods, so that the activities of residents, including children's learning activities, must be stopped. The construction of the suspension bridge with a length of approximately 100 meters is expected to be a permanent solution to open access between areas.

Later, the bridge will be the main link to the village center, making it easier for people to go to school, work, and access health services.

The head of Pulo Wetan Village, Bolo Village, Jawadi, revealed that the idea of building this bridge actually existed since 1992, but it had never been realized because of the very large cost of building the bridge and the lack of access to ask for government assistance.

The community has long complained about the difficulty of access, especially for elementary school children who have to cross the river, even often having to be helped by their parents.

The construction of this bridge is targeted to be completed within one month and carried out in a cooperative manner by involving the active participation of the local community. The existence of a suspension bridge in Bolo Village is expected to further increase community mobility and be able to encourage economic growth and the welfare of residents in the area.
