DPRD Finds Alleged Construction Mistakes in GOM North Bogor

BOGOR - Commission IV of the Bogor City DPRD found alleged construction errors during a sudden inspection (sidak) to the Bogor North Community Sports Arena (GOM).

The findings emerged after an incident where one of the building structures collapsed, which was previously said to be due to weather factors or force majeure. However, field checks showed indications of technical problems in the construction.

Chairman of Commission IV of the Bogor City DPRD, Fajar Muhammad Nur, assessed that the cause of the damage was not due to natural factors, but rather the quality of development that was not in accordance with standards.

"After we checked on the ground, this was not force majeure, but allegedly a construction error. The materials used did not meet standards, including supports that did not use galvanized according to specifications," said Fajar.

He also highlighted the weak supervision in the implementation of the project, as well as questioning the process of disbursing the budget even though it was suspected to be inconsistent with the specifications.

Commission IV urges the Bogor City Youth and Sports Office (Dispora) to immediately conduct a thorough investigation, including an audit of the suitability of the work with the Detailed Engineering Design (DED).

"We will ask the Ministry of Sports and Youth for an explanation and recommend an internal audit to ensure that the work is in accordance with the plan," he said.

In addition to GOM Bogor Utara, the raid was also carried out in the GOR Pajajaran area, especially the Mila Kencana Swimming Pool. At this location, the DPRD found a number of technical deficiencies that could potentially endanger the safety of users.

Secretary of Commission IV, Subhan, said there were still slippery ceramics and *starting block* facilities that were not adequate.

"We found several shortcomings that must be immediately corrected so as not to interfere with the implementation of the Porprov," he said.

Member of Commission IV, Mulyani, also highlighted the potential danger of loose stones in the pool area that could injure visitors, especially children.

Responding to the findings, the Head of the Bogor City Sports and Culture Office, Anas Rusmana, stated that his party would immediately conduct an audit to determine the cause of the incident in GOM Bogor Utara.

"We will conduct an internal audit to find out whether the cause is purely a natural factor or there is an error in the construction aspect," said Anas.

He added that improvements to facilities at the Pajajaran GOR would be carried out gradually, including the installation of anti-slip carpets in the pool area which was considered slippery.

The DPRD emphasized that these findings must be immediately followed up to ensure public safety and ensure the quality of public facilities development according to standards.
