Anwar Ibrahim asks law enforcement to be vigilant amid the hot Middle East situation

JAKARTA - Malaysian Prime Minister (PM) Anwar Ibrahim asked law enforcement officials in Malaysia to always be aware of the security of the country amid the war situation in the Middle East.

"PDRM (Malaysian Royal Police), law enforcement officers; all must be more prepared. Do not take lightly the security situation of our country and the possibility of an increase in crime in our state and country," Anwar Ibrahim said in his speech at the Perak 2026 Madani Rakyat Program, in Ipoh, Perak, Saturday as quoted by Antara.

He got information from the police that in the current situation, crime and smuggling could increase.

"The police told me that when the economic situation is like this, smuggling may increase. Crime may increase. So, we have to think about it and maybe there are external elements," said Anwar.

Furthermore, he said that until now the situation in Malaysia is still under control. AnwarIbrahimpun invites all parties to focus on saving the country from the impact of the war in the Middle East.
