JAKARTA - Lebaran Betawi 2026 will take place at Lapangan Banteng on April 10-12, 2026. For this, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) has prepared a number of activities. "We invite all people in Jakarta and its surroundings to attend and enliven Lebaran Betawi 2026," said the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of the DKI Jakarta Province, Uus Kuswanto in a statement in Jakarta, launching ANTARA, Saturday, April 4. Lebaran Betawi which carries the theme "Lebaran Betawi for Jakarta: Strengthening Unity in Caring for Tradition Towards a Global City Jakarta" begins with a thanksgiving evening filled with study, Maulid, tahlilan, tausiah, and prayers together which took place on Friday (10/4) at 18.30-21.30 WIB. The following day, from 08.00-23.00 WIB, various cultural attractions such as ondel-ondel, tanjidor, silat, and gambang kromong, as well as ceremonial activities, akbar social gatherings, to folk entertainment such as Betawi lenong and tancep screen will be held.

On the last day, which will start at 06.00-22.00 WIB, there will be relaxing and interactive activities, such as gymnastics, Betawi traditional games, folk tales, cultural carnival, procession of offerings, Betawi culinary offerings, to musical performances.

"People can enjoy various Betawi culinary and visit the local product bazaar, thus encouraging the economic growth of MSMEs. Uus said, Betawi Lebaran is not just a celebration, but also a momentum to strengthen unity, strengthen togetherness, and preserve Betawi cultural values as Jakarta's identity. "This is a common space for people to get together, take care of traditions, and strengthen the unity of residents in a festive atmosphere," he said.

Lebaran Betawi which has been held since 2008 is now entering its 18th implementation. This activity continues to be developed as part of efforts to preserve and promote Betawi culture, as well as strengthen Jakarta's identity as a global city rooted in local wisdom. This activity is expected to attract around 20,000 visitors from various backgrounds, ranging from the general public, students, cultural communities, to domestic and foreign tourists. This year's celebration is organized by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government together with Bamus Betawi, the Betawi Community Assembly, and various stakeholders as a form of collaboration in maintaining and developing Betawi culture.
