The Number of Victims Killed by the US Attack on the Iranian Bridge Reached 13 People
JAKARTA - The number of deaths due to the attack by the United States and Israel on the B1 Bridge in Karaj, Iran, has increased to 13 people, according to the Iranian Student News Agency, quoting the Director General of the Alborz Veterans and Martyrs Foundation, Amir Hossein Daneshkuhan, Saturday.
"The number of people who lost their lives in the American-Israeli attack on the B1 Bridge in Alborz Province has increased to 13 people," Daneshkuhan said.
A joint American-Israeli attack hit a major bridge on the highway of Alborz Province, northern Iran, on Thursday morning (2/4), according to media reports.
The Fars News Agency, as reported by Antara, said that several locations hit by the attack were in the Azimieh area near Karaj, including the B1 Bridge, which was described as the highest bridge in the Middle East.
The news agency reported several injured. The bridge, which is part of a major infrastructure project and will soon be inaugurated, was also damaged.
Reports say that the American military carried out a double tap attack in Iran, the same location hit twice in a row.
According to reports quoted in media reports, the second attack occurred about an hour after the first attack. When the second attack occurred, a number of emergency responders were already at the scene to help the injured, although the personnel were considered to be protected civilians under international law.
The attack was the latest escalation in the convoy since February 28, when the Americans and Israelis launched an air strike against Iran, killing more than 1,340 people, including the then-supreme leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei.
Iran has also retaliated with missile attacks against Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting American troops, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure and disrupting global markets and flights.
