PDIP: Delapan TNI korban di Lebanon Momentum PBB Lebih Tegas pada Israel
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) said that the incident of eight Indonesian National Army (TNI) soldiers who were victims in Lebanon should be a momentum for the United Nations (UN) to act more decisively and visibly against Israel.
Chairman of the Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the PDI-P, Said Abdullah, said that the UN must take this step as proof that the organization is still functioning.
"We mourn the deaths of three TNI soldiers who served as peacekeepers on behalf of the United Nations and five other TNI were injured," said Said in a statement in Jakarta, Saturday, as reported by Antara.
According to him, the attack on the Israeli army against the UN peacekeepers showed that they felt they were above the law.
If calculated since October 2024, he said, the Israeli army has carried out 25 attacks on properties and UN peacekeepers in Lebanon.
For this reason, he assessed that the repeated tragedies carried out by Israel seemed to have impunity, as was the case with the humanitarian crimes committed in Gaza, Palestine.
"The world and the UN seem powerless to stop the human rights crimes committed by Israel," he said.
Therefore, he called on the UN Human Rights Council and/or sovereign countries to report Israel to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for its actions.
Said continued that Israel's repeated actions in Lebanon and Gaza are clear evidence of violations of the UN Charter and crimes against humanity.
In addition, he also demanded Israel's direct responsibility for the killing of three TNI soldiers and five others who were injured in the form of an admission of the act of aggression, an apology in an official forum at the UN, and expressed readiness to take responsibility through the judicial mechanism by the ICC.
He also called on various countries to break diplomatic relations and cooperation in various fields with Israel, to isolate Israel in relations with various nations in the world, because of Israel's existence which has become a burden.
He explained that several countries in Europe who were originally good partners of Israel had done so, so Said appreciated the steps of various countries, such as the Spanish government which withdrew its ambassador from Israel, France and Denmark which refused to sell weapons to Israel, as well as a number of other countries. decided to cut diplomatic ties.
On September 12, 2025, the UN General Assembly convened and took a stance on the two-state solution, in which Palestine and Israel are two standing states.
The recognition of Palestine as a sovereign state was approved by 142 members of the UN General Assembly out of 193 countries present.
"Thus, the Secretary-General and the UN Security Council must implement the decision as soon as possible," said Said.
The three bodies of TNI soldiers who are part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) will be repatriated from Turkey and are scheduled to arrive in Indonesia on Saturday (4/4) afternoon, via Soekarno Hatta International Airport.
Indonesian peacekeeper, Corporal Two Farizal Rhomadhon, was killed by artillery fire around the position of the Indonesian UNIFIL contingent near Adchit Al Qusayr, southern Lebanon, on Sunday (29/3).
Exactly the next day on Monday (30/3), Indonesia lost two more personnel at UNIFIL when the convoy of troops they were guarding was attacked. The two personnel who died in the attack were Major Infantry Zulmi Aditya Iskandar and Sergeant Chief Muhammad Nur Ichwan.
Meanwhile, five TNI soldiers who were injured include Lieutenant One Infantry Sulthan Wirdean Maulana, Head Soldier (Praka) Deni Rianto, Praka Rico Pramudia, Praka Bayu Prakoso, and Praka Arif Kurniawan.
