iPhone 18 Pro Rumored to Be Black, Apple Continues Bold Design Trend
Apple has once again sparked a discussion among gadget enthusiasts after rumors emerged that the iPhone 18 Pro will not be available in a black color variant. If true, this will be the second consecutive year that Apple has abandoned the classic color on their Pro line.
This signal first emerged from a Chinese leaker on the Weibo platform, who said the black color option was "trimmed" for the 2026 release. Previously, Apple also eliminated the black color on the iPhone 17 Pro and replaced it with bolder options such as Cosmic Orange, Silver, and Deep Blue.
This move marks a change in Apple's design strategy, which has begun to move away from neutral colors towards a more expressive palette. For some users, this feels like a loss of the "safe choice" - the black color that has been synonymous with an elegant and minimalist impression.
Instead, rumors say Apple is preparing new colors such as dark red (deep red) and purple. However, until now, there has been no official confirmation regarding the final color choices to be released.
On the other hand, this decision also opens up broader questions regarding Apple's design direction going forward, including for their first foldable device, which is rumored to be the iPhone Fold. The device is expected to launch in conjunction with the iPhone 18 series, although its distribution schedule could be delayed by several weeks.
If Apple's launch pattern remains consistent, the announcement of the latest iPhone line will likely be made in September. The Pro model is expected to be immediately available in the market, while the foldable variant has the potential to follow later in the year.
