Muhaimin Iskandar Encourage SOEs to Print High Competitive Human Resources

TANGERANG - Coordinating Minister for Social Empowerment (Menko PM) Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar encourages State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) to print and prepare highly competitive human resources (HR) to open up career ecosystem opportunities abroad.

"I invite existing SOEs, and God willing, together with the Chairman of Commission VI, we will encourage SOEs to prepare more and more workers who are ready to work abroad," said Muhaimin in Tangerang, Friday, as reported by Antara.

According to him, the role of SOEs can be to strengthen the competence of prospective workers through existing corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, which can also strengthen the quality of human resources through skill development.

By applying the principle of strengthening competence, continued Muhaimin, it is considered to be able to spur productivity and make companies open more opportunities or employment opportunities abroad according to the needs of each country.

"And I hear that our talents are much more favored than our competitors from other countries, because our talents have a good culture, our talents have measured and proven professionalism, our talents have good morals," he said.

On this occasion, he also appreciated the SOEs involved in carrying out the improvement of human resources quality such as PT Angkasa Pura, PT Kereta Api Indonesia, KP2MI, P3MI, for their real contribution in facilitating training to the placement of Indonesian migrant workers (PMI).

At least 200 prospective migrant workers in the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) scheme in the manufacturing sector are part of the national strategy to expand Indonesian labor access to the global market through the SMK Go Global program.

The SMK Go Global program is one of the special attentions of President Prabowo Subianto who was instructed directly to the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Muhaimin Iskandar, after the Cabinet Meeting on November 5, 2025.

The SMK Go Global program that is running today is a first step, a plotting phase supported by state-owned enterprise CSR financing.

"From here, the program model is tested and improved, as a foundation for the implementation of the regular scheme which is currently being prepared," he said.

They were sent out through various collaborative programs, consisting of 50 people through the PT Angkasa Pura CSR program, 30 people through the PT Kereta Api Indonesia CSR program, and 120 people through the facilitation of the Indonesian Migrant Worker Placement Company (P3MI).

"The release is part of the implementation of the SMK Go Global policy, which is designed as a bridge to produce superior and globally competitive human resources," he continued.

Coordinating Minister Muhaimin said that this activity was a concrete implementation of SMK Go Global which was designed to prepare Indonesian talents to be able to compete internationally and at the same time represent the quality of national labor.

"Today's release is a tangible proof that SMK Go Global is the key to opening access and expanding the expansion of Indonesian labor abroad. We want our human resources to be able to compete and take advantage of opportunities in the international labor market," he said.
