Bulog Targets Distribution of 828 Thousand Tons of SPHP Rice Throughout 2026

JAKARTA - Director of Perum Bulog Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani said that the distribution of rice for the food supply and price stabilization program (SPHP) was carried out throughout 2026 with a target of 828 thousand tons, to maintain the availability and stability of national rice prices.

Rizal said the assignment was based on the letter of the Head of the National Food Agency Number: 204/TS.03.03/K/2/2026 dated February 11, 2026 regarding the Assignment of the Government Food Reserve (CPP) for 2026.

"Our legal basis for the assignment is in accordance with the National Food Agency Regulation Number 204 dated February 11, 2026, which is the total SPHP this year is 828 thousand tons that we must distribute," said Rizal confirmed by Antara in Jakarta, Friday.

He said the distribution of rice was carried out directly by Bulog to the people's market so that prices remained under control and affordable for the wider community.

In addition to the people's market, Bulog also distributes rice through the Red and White Village / Neighborhood Cooperative (Kopdes Merah Putih) by ensuring that all cooperative stalls get a sustainable supply of SPHP rice and premium rice.

Bulog also participated in the cheap food movement (GPM) activities with ministries, agencies, local governments, and various other institutions to help ease the burden of the community in meeting basic needs.

Distribution also includes local government training outlets, cooperatives of regional business entities, cooperatives of government agencies, and the Kita Food House Network (RPK) which reaches around 80 thousand points.

In addition, stabilization program rice is also distributed through supermarkets and modern stores to expand public access to rice at affordable prices.

The distribution of rice is carried out in 5 kilogram packages with medium quality rice that has a breakage rate of around 25 percent and a water content of 14 percent according to government standards. In fact, now a 2 kg package is prepared.

SPHP rice is sold according to the HET, namely Rp12,500 per kilogram for zone 1 (Java, Lampung, South Sumatra, Bali, NTB, Sulawesi); Rp13,100 per kilogram for zone 2 (Sumatra other than Lampung and Sumsel, NTT, Kalimantan); and Rp13,500 per kilogram for zone 3 (Maluku, Papua).

The distribution of rice for the food supply and price stabilization program in 2026 is carried out throughout the year without interruption, unlike the pattern of the previous year which is periodic following the peak harvest conditions in order to maintain prices at the farmer level.

However, he said the target for distributing rice for this year's stabilization program had decreased compared to the 2025 target which had previously been set to reach 1.5 million tons nationwide.

In January 2026, the target for distribution was said to remain 1.5 million tons, but then adjustments were made because in January and February the distribution of the remaining quota from the previous year was still being carried out.

The distribution of rice for the stabilization program in 2025 did not reach the target because it was not carried out throughout the year, especially when entering the peak harvest season so that distribution was temporarily stopped.

The delay began in February and was only resumed from July to December 2025, with a realization of 802,939 tons, and the remaining quota was extended until early 2026 to maintain price stability.
