LavAni Awali Final Four Proliga with Garuda Jaya

SURABAYA - The Jakarta LavAni Livin Transmedia men's team started the final four Proliga 2026 with a positive result when silencing Jakarta Garuda Jaya with a score of 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-17) at the Jawapos Arena, Surabaya, Friday afternoon.

LavAni, which was strengthened by many players from the Indonesian national volleyball team and was added by American player Taylor Lee Sander, still seemed too tough for Garuda Jaya, which had junior national team players.

Dio Zulfikri and his friends dominated the game with a variety of deadly attacks that were difficult to stop the opponent's block.

The Garuda Jaya children actually put up a fight in the second set when LavAni's players made many mistakes. However, LavAni quickly corrected and reversed the situation to maintain the lead.

Assistant Coach of Jakarta LavAni Livin Transmedia Erwin Rusni said his team still hasn't played at its maximum, even though it was able to win convincingly over Garuda Jaya.

"The second set was also a lot of mistakes, but we will fix it later. Hopefully the next match against Samator can be better," said Rusni.

Tosser and captain of the Jakarta team LavAni Dio Zulfikri also admitted that his team had not played optimally according to the expected scheme. "Some of the times we receive it does not go well," he said.

Regarding the new foreign player from Germany, Grozer Gyoergy, who will soon join his team, Dio admitted that he was very happy and hoped to work well together to pursue the Proliga champion this season.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Garuda Jaya coach Nur Widayanto said his players played less optimally, especially in the poor reception of the service ball so that it failed to be utilized by the new tosser from Iran Movsar Bataev to build an attack.

"It just so happens that our foreign tosser came yesterday (Thursday, 2/4) afternoon and just practiced with the team this morning, so it still needs to adapt. Hopefully the next match will be more solid with local players," he said.
