WFH ASN Friday, Menag Assures that the Ministry of Religion Services Will Continue

JAKARTA - Minister of Religion (Menag) Nasaruddin Umar emphasized that the public services of the Ministry of Religion should not be disturbed even though ASN works from home every Friday. He asked that the quality of service be maintained, even when the work pattern is changed.

The instruction refers to the Circular of the Minister of PAN-RB Number 3 of 2026. All Kemenag units, from the center to the region, are asked to ensure that services are still available and easily accessible to the public.

"Public services are a priority. WFH must not reduce service quality," said Nasaruddin, Thursday, April 2, 2026.

The technical arrangements for WFH are handed over to each head of the work unit. However, there are strict limits. Services that directly touch the community such as marriage registration, legalization of marriage certificates, and other religious services must continue to run.

The Minister of Religion also emphasized the use of technology. Digitalization is considered a key to ensuring that services are not hampered even though the mobility of ASN is reduced.

He asked each unit to ensure that service information was clear, both online and offline. Standards of time and quality should not change.

In addition, the service is requested to remain inclusive. Vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women, and children must continue to be served.

On the other hand, this policy is also aimed at energy efficiency. The use of official vehicles is limited to a maximum of 50 percent. ASN is encouraged to switch to public transportation. Online meetings are multiplied, official travel is tightened.

Savings also target the use of electricity, both in offices and at home. Menag considers this step not only efficient, but also part of maintaining energy and economic resilience.
