KPK: No Intimidation of Ono Surono's Wife During House Search

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated that there was no intimidation from the anti-corruption agency to Ono Surono's wife during the search of the West Java DPRD Deputy Chairman's house on April 1, 2026.

"No," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo in a statement confirmed in Jakarta, Friday, quoted by Antara.

Furthermore, Budi explained that the search went smoothly and well, even the Ono Surono family accepted the search with open arms.

In addition, he emphasized that the family of Ono Surono was the one who turned off the surveillance camera or CCTV during the search.

"Regarding turning off the CCTV, we also need to emphasize that the CCTV was turned off by the family. Yes, and there was no coercion there. It was done voluntarily," he said.

He also denied the statement by Ono Surono's lawyer that the search was an attempt to frame or frame negatively against the Deputy Chairman of the West Java DPRD.

"Of course, the search activities are based on strong arguments from the legal process carried out by investigators. In fact, in this search, investigators also secured, found, and seized a number of evidence," he explained.

However, when asked about the evidence in the form of cash being the money of the wife's arisan, Ono Surono, Budi did not explain in detail.

"What is certain, and we explain that the seizure of money that was carried out was in the private room of brother ONS (Ono Surono)," he said.

Previously, the KPK carried out a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) and arrested ten people in Bekasi Regency, West Java, on December 18, 2025.

On December 19, 2025, the KPK revealed that eight out of ten people were taken to the KPK Red and White Building, Jakarta, to be intensively examined. Two of the eight people included Ade Kunang and his father, HM Kunang.

On the same date, the KPK announced the seizure of hundreds of millions of rupiah in a case allegedly related to a project bribe in Bekasi Regency.

On December 20, 2025, the KPK announced that the Regent of Bekasi Ade Kuswara Kunang (ADK), the father of the Regent of Bekasi and Head of Sukadami Village, South Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency, HM Kunang (HMK), and a private party named Sarjan (SRJ) as suspects in the alleged bribery case.

The KPK said Ade Kuswara and HM Kunang were suspects in alleged bribery, while Sarjan was a suspect in alleged bribery.

Meanwhile, on January 15, 2026, Ono Surono was examined as a witness. After being examined by the KPK, he admitted that he was asked about the flow of money related to the case.

On April 1, 2026, the KPK searched Ono Surono's house in Bandung, West Java. Ono's lawyer, Sahali, on April 2, 2026, then said there was an alleged intimidation by the KPK against the wife of the Deputy Chairman of the West Java DPRD.
