The Strokes Release Hard Codes Immediately Before New World Tour

JAKARTA - The New York-based indie rock icon, The Strokes, sent a strong signal about their return to the music industry with new material.

After more than four years focusing on their respective solo projects, the band led by Julian Casablancas gave a clue that made fans around the world speculate about the release of their seventh album.

This news surfaced after The Strokes uploaded a mysterious link via Instagram Story. The post featured a 1990s-style notebook logo that led to the Laylo page.

There, fans are greeted with a visual of a horse with tape on its hooves in the middle of the desert - a retro aesthetic that is often a hallmark of the band's visual identity.

Through the upload, The Strokes explicitly stated that they would soon provide information updates to fans.

"We will contact you soon for an update as soon as possible," the band wrote in its statement.

On the Reddit platform, a fan even shared a screenshot of a text message from the band's management promising to try to share something in the near future.

This attempt to seduce fans was made just before The Strokes were scheduled to begin a major tour series in April 2026, including headline performances in San Francisco and Coachella 2026.

In addition, they are also scheduled to visit the Summer Sonic festival in Japan, which strengthens the suspicion that new material will be introduced in the middle of the stage schedule.

Previously, producer Rick Rubin had confirmed that he had had an intensive recording session with The Strokes in Costa Rica.

Guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. called the session a magical and optimistic way of going. "I think we haven't written our best songs. I really feel it in my heart," he said.

Although Julian Casablancas had mentioned that the album took a long time to work on, the intensity of the digital promotion that was carried out recently showed a different direction.

Casablancas, who released an album with The Voidz in 2024, now seems ready to return to his "main job" at The Strokes.

"In theory, we should be able to work faster. We have a good relationship with Rick Rubin," said Casablancas.

Until now, The Strokes' official website still has a mysterious question mark title, which is believed to be a countdown to the announcement of their new work.
