10 Villages in Central Aceh Isolated Again Due to Bridge Collapse
BANDA ACEH - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Central Aceh Regency reported that ten villages from two sub-districts were again isolated due to the collapse of three emergency bridges after the return of flash floods and landslides in the local area.
"The interruption of three bridges caused the isolation of several villages again," said the Head of the Central Aceh BPBD, Andalika, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, April 2.
Previously, a number of areas in Central Aceh were again hit by flash floods and landslides due to heavy rain that hit the area on Tuesday afternoon (31/3).
Andalika said, heavy rain which caused the river water discharge to increase had caused the collapse of the emergency bridge built by the TNI after the disaster.
The emergency bridge that was damaged again was the Kala Ili bridge in Linge District, the Burlah and Bergang bridges in Ketol District, so that vehicle access there was paralyzed again.
The collapse of the three bridges, he continued, caused the isolation of ten villages, namely Kampung Linge, Jamat, Delung Sekinel, Kutenireje and Reje Payung in Linge District.
"The same is true in Ketol District, namely Burlah Village, Kekuyang, Bintang Pepara, Bergang and Karang Ampar Village," he said.
He said that the broken Kala Ili bridge in Linge District not only isolated several villages, but also affected the acceleration of the construction of temporary housing (huntara) and communal permanent housing (huntap) in the Jamat settlement because the transportation or curtain of the building materials was disrupted.
It is hoped that the access can be functional and safe again as soon as possible, his party continues to accelerate the installation of bailey bridges on the three bridges before they are built again permanently.
"For the repair of the bridge, BPBD has come down to review and plan repairs. We are trying to complete the emergency handling as soon as possible," he said.
He added that flash floods and landslides had also caused three provincial road bodies in Bintang - Simpang Kraft to be buried, so that vehicle access there was also paralyzed.
"Currently, to open access to the Bintang - Simpang Kraft road, BPBD has deployed one unit of excavator for landslide cleaning in the hope that this afternoon the road will be functional and smooth again," said Andalika.
