BGN Freeze 302 SPPG in NTB

MATARAM - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has taken firm steps by temporarily suspending the operations of 302 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) in West Nusa Tenggara.

NTBFathul Gani, chairman of the NTB MBG Task Force, confirmed the information that the 302 SPPG in NTB had been temporarily discontinued by BGN.

"Yes, that's right. There are a total of 302 SPPG that have temporarily closed their operations," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, April 2.

He said the decision to temporarily stop the operation of 302 SPPG was contained in letter BGN Number 1218/D.TWS/03/2026 dated March 31, 2026 which was signed by the Deputy for Regional Monitoring and Supervision III BGNRudi Setiawan in Jakarta.

The reason for the temporary suspension of SPPG operations, he said, was due to two things, namely SPPG did not have a Certificate of Public Hygiene (SLHS) and did not have a Waste Water Disposal Facility (IPAL) according to the standards set.

"Considering the risks that can be caused to the quality of production, nutritional quality, and food safety, the BGN decided to temporarily close the SPPG operation," said the Assistant I to the NTB Provincial Secretary.

Before deciding to temporarily close the SPPG operation, he said, BGN had warned that SPPG should immediately complete the SLHS and IPAL.

However, it seems that the warning from BGN was ignored, so BGN decided to temporarily close the SPPG.

"The SPPG that has been temporarily closed is spread throughout the entire NTB region," he said.

Fathul Gani added that although the closure of SPPG operations was temporary. BGN still gives time for SPPG partners to immediately take care of and complete the SLHS and IPAL.

"The revocation of the temporary cessation of operations status can only be carried out after the SPPG submits valid proof of repair and supporting documents. As long as it has not been met, the temporary closure will still be enforced," he said.

He hopes that SPPG partners will not play around and immediately pay attention to this, considering that the MBG program is not just a distribution of food, but concerns the basic needs of children, as the next generation of the nation.

He also hopes that the regencies/cities will also pay attention to this issue.

"We hope this will be a common concern, especially in terms of food safety and quality of services to MBG beneficiaries," he said.
