Minister of Culture Appoints Officials, Requests Cultural Bureaucracy to Cut Procedures

JAKARTA - Minister of Culture (Menbud) Fadli Zon appointed a number of high-ranking officials, administrative officials, and supervisory officials in the Ministry of Culture, Thursday, April 2. In the inauguration, Fadli immediately emphasized discipline, efficiency, and quick decisions in the midst of budget pressures and increasing performance demands.

The inauguration was held at the Plaza Insan Berprestasi, the Ministry of Culture Complex, Jakarta. Fadli emphasized that the position he held was not merely an administrative position, but a trust that must be carried out with responsibility and dedication to the country.

"In the midst of challenges in budget efficiency and also increasing performance demands, I want to emphasize the importance of discipline in working and ensure that each program has a clear and measurable goal," said Fadli Zon.

He also asked the newly appointed ranks to cut procedures that do not add value. According to him, efficiency should not be interpreted as work restrictions, but a way to optimize resources and accelerate results.

"Cut procedures that do not provide added value and inefficiency, strengthen efficiency, coordination, accelerate decision-making that has a real impact based on high competence and integrity," he said.

In his direction, Menbud Fadli highlighted four pillars of cultural policy, namely the internalization of educational values, cultural economy, culture as soft power diplomacy, and culture as a binding power to strengthen national unity. He also encouraged digital transformation in the management of cultural data and assets, as well as strengthening partnerships with local governments, communities, and the private sector.

The Secretary General (Sekjen) of the Ministry of Culture, Bambang Wibawarta, added that the newly appointed officials must walk in the same direction. According to the Secretary General, this alignment is important so that each work unit does not move on its own.

"The common direction and steps are the key so that all levels can move in unison. We can't walk alone," said Bambang.

The inauguration was also witnessed by Secretary General Bambang Wibawarta and Director General of Cultural and Traditional Protection Restu Gunawan, and was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture Giring Ganesha Djumaryo and a number of officials from the Ministry of Culture.
