KAI Wadirut ensures that the landslide line disruption in Bandung has been resolved
JAKARTA - Deputy President Director of PT KAI (Persero) Dody Budiawan has ensured that the railway line disruption due to landslides that occurred on the Bandung area line, West Java, specifically between Maswati - Sasaksaat Stations, has been resolved.
"Yesterday there was a landslide in the area (Bandung) West Java. It was blocked (train travel) because of this landslide, but thank God we have finished it," said Dody as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, April 1.
Dody said that the landslide event had stopped the train's journey and caused disruptions, but immediate handling was carried out until the condition was under control.
He explained that the landslide occurred on the cliff around the railway line which caused disruption of travel and even there was an incident of derailment on the train set.
As a handling step, KAI immediately deployed a backup locomotive to pull the train set to Padalarang so that the line could be immediately released.
Meanwhile, passengers were transferred using the Whoosh fast train service to Jakarta so that travel could continue quickly and smoothly.
"We moved the passengers, we asked for the Whoosh train, we were immediately transported to Jakarta. So, thank God, the passengers were also happy, they could get to Jakarta quickly," said Dody.
Previously, PT KAI Regional Operation (Daop) 2 Bandung provided a 100 percent refund for all passengers affected by the cancellation of travel due to a landslide in the Maswati-Sasaksaat plot, West Bandung, Wednesday (1/4).
This step was taken as a form of responsibility following the suspension of the operation of a number of train lines due to landslides that closed the main line.
"For those affected by the cancellation, they can make a refund with a value of 100 percent of the fare stated on the ticket," said KAI Bandung Public Relations Manager Daop 2 Bandung Kuswardojo confirmed in Bandung, Wednesday (1/4) evening.
In addition to the full refund option, KAI also offers alternative solutions for passengers who still want to continue their journey to their destination city by facilitating other modes of transportation.
