One Voice with Robert De Niro, Anwar Fuady Condemns Trump's Aggression

JAKARTA - The public in the United States is divided by Donald Trump's aggression against Iran. Millions of people have demonstrated condemning the policy that affects the American people themselves, including Hollywood actor Robert De Niro. Indonesian veteran actor Anwar Fuady also in tune with the actor who starred in The Godfather Part II (1974) in this context.

According to Anwar, what De Niro did was to voice the people's hearts. "What Robert De Niro did by taking to the streets to demonstrate against Donald Trump's policy, which without any clear reason attacked Iran, should be appreciated. It's nothing, attacking a sovereign nation without a clear reason is a violation of international law," said Anwar passionately when he was met at the Halal Bihalal & Syukuran event for Benny Martha Benyamin Tatung's birthday, in Kemang, Wednesday (1/3).

Moreover, continued Anwar, who has starred in many soap operas and feature films, the attack by America and its allies, Israel, on Iran turned out not to be according to plan. "They thought Iran was easy to conquer, it turned out that until today Iran has not been conquered. They can still carry out retaliatory attacks on Israel and American assets in the Middle East," he said.

And what is even more worrying, the impact of this American and Israeli attack, said Anwar, also makes the world economy depressed. "Because of this attack, the distribution of fuel is stalled and the world economy is increasingly depressed. Fuel prices in America alone have jumped sharply, inflation there is unstoppable. So it can be understood that the American people are screaming and they are demonstrating," he said.

So, according to Anwar, personally he is in line with Robert De Niro and most Americans who disagree with Trump's war. "I support Robert De Niro and all Americans who demonstrate against Trump's aggression," he said.

As previously reported, in the mass demonstration in Manhattan, New York, Robert De Niro was involved. He and tens of thousands of Americans marched along Seventh Avenue carrying posters that read "No ICE", "No Kings", and "No Wars". Actor Robert De Niro said that no president before Trump has presented such a threat to the freedom and security of American citizens.

The wave of protests also spread to Washington, the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, to Arizona. In Sacramento, the rally took place amid a spike in fuel prices after the US military operation against Iran on February 28. According to the American Automobile Association, as reported by Xinhua, gasoline prices in Los Angeles County are now approaching 6 US dollars per gallon, up more than 1.26 US dollars in a month.

According to Anwar, what the Iranian government and people have done can be an example for the Indonesian nation. "They dare to fight and say no to the aggressor country. People think Iran whose weapons are far below America will easily surrender. But it turns out they can survive," said Anwar Fuady.
