PGN Promotes BBG as an Economic Option for Vehicles at Rp4,500
JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN) optimizes Gas Fuel (BBG) for the land transportation sector. This commitment is carried out as one of the solutions for independent, efficient and environmentally friendly energy in the midst of fluctuating global geopolitics and impacting the availability and price of world energy,
"In line with PGN's role as a Subholding of Pertamina Gas, we are committed to always accompany the community in obtaining reliable energy access and friendly prices, especially in the midst of the current global challenge dynamics," said PGN Corporate Secretary Fajriyah Usman, quoted Thursday, April 2.
He added that the use of BBG provides many benefits for users and countries. From the price side, BBG tends to be more economical and stable.
The price of BBG is pegged at a stable price across all SPBG at Rp4,500 per Liter Equivalent to Pertalite (LSP). This price is more competitive than non-subsidized fuel, so it can significantly reduce vehicle operating costs.
BBG is more environmentally friendly, because it produces lower carbon emissions up to 20 percent cleaner than fuels. In that way, the use of BBG also supports the acceleration of the use of environmentally friendly energy and the government's target towards Net Zero Emission.
"The use of BBG provides benefits to the performance of vehicle engines. More perfect gas combustion, so as to help maintain the cleanliness of the engine combustion chamber which can reduce operating costs and extend the life of vehicles," explained Fajriyah.
By embracing the Gas Car Community (Komogas) until April 3, 2026 at the Komogas Service Center in East Jakarta and April 6 - 10, 2026 at the SPBG Bogor. The services provided include technical inspections, maintenance, repairs, and converting vehicles to BBG easily and professionally.
To realize the vision of solid energy security through the use of BBG, PGN emphasizes the importance of synergy and support from the government and other stakeholders. Through its Subsidiary, PT Gagas Energi Indonesia, PGN manages 14 SPBG, 4 MRU and 1 Mother Station (MS) to serve BBG. PGN hopes that with solid synergy can encourage the use of BBG in the community while expanding the development of SPBG in various regions.
"In principle, PGN continues to ensure the reliability of natural gas supply for the entire SPBG network spread throughout the region. By optimizing domestic energy sources, this contribution is expected to support Indonesia in facing the dynamics of the world's energy and moving forward towards energy independence for people's daily activities," concluded Fajriyah.
