Google Allows Users to Change Gmail Username, No Need to Create New Account

Google announced that it has launched a new feature that allows users to change their account username, including the email address section before "@gmail.com".

Google said this update is part of the company's efforts to increase the flexibility of users' digital identities, in line with changing personal and professional needs.

Later, the new username can be used to access various Google services, ranging from Gmail, Google Photos, to Google Drive.

This username change feature has previously been tested gradually since last year. Now, access is widely available to all Google account users in the United States.

"We started rolling out this feature last year to help your account grow as your needs grow," the search giant wrote in its official announcement.

However, there is no official information regarding the launch schedule in other regions, including Indonesia.

To use the feature, users can follow the simple steps available through Google's help center. With the presence of this feature, users have greater control over their digital identity without having to create a new account.
